Introduction to Focus Blending

Check this introduction to focus blending article by Nat Coalson which he wrote as a guest post on PhotoFocus. What is focus blending? Well- the easiest way to explain it that its like HDR for focus. It allows you to blend photos of the same scenes focused on different places to give you a depth of field that would otherwise be impossible to achieve with a single exposure. You can read the article HERE.

Shooting JPEG vs Raw

For me this question has always been a 'no brainer'. Since the first day I asked this question, my camera has lived in RAW. I can always use the manufacturer software to render a 100% exact same JPEG later but I can't do the reverse. However, like all things, there are advantages and disadvantages for both. There's a great  graphic by Haje Jan Kamps that explains the whole process very well. Also check out another article, alse by Haje, called: Can photos taken in JPEG be as good as photos taken in RAW? So now you can decide for yourself what suits you.
