It was good to see a few of you trying out some new light painting techniques during yesterday's outing... Some really good images here by Ben, Charles, Kierran and Dianne. Star Trails
Another technique to try out at night is "Star Trails". I had done this before using film cameras and I remember the first time I tried it with a digital camera there were some new challenges to overcome. In this post, they cover shooting star trails from start to end. Its the best complete guide that I have found. They take you through the whole process from composition to processing, explaining considerations such as shooting a single image or stacking. There's also links to free stacking software.
